What is CagriSema?
A development program combining cagrilintide with semaglutide. The studied combination is distinct from either ingredient alone and from a retail mixture. Consult the developer’s current pipeline for regulatory progress. Developer pipeline.

Overview
CagriSema is the development name for cagrilintide combined with semaglutide. It is not a generic name for any mixture of those ingredients. The scientific question concerns a defined combination, formulation and clinical program. Evidence for semaglutide alone does not automatically establish the safety or availability of an unofficial two-ingredient preparation.
Community Use
PeptideDosages publishes a cagrilintide–semaglutide blend page. It documents community calculation material, not proof that the listed blend is CagriSema. No exact Peptidepedia.org CagriSema profile was verified for attribution. The combination’s clinical evidence should be read through its actual trial report and developer documents.
Doses, Durations & Cycles
Published dosing regimens. Product-label and study regimens for education, not instructions for self-treatment. Product, indication and route matter.
| Route / formulation | Dose / reported phases | Frequency | Duration / break | Notes and source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Subcutaneous fixed-dose combination | Initial: Trial initiation: cagrilintide 0.25 mg plus semaglutide 0.25 mg Trial target: cagrilintide 2.4 mg plus semaglutide 2.4 mg weekly; subtarget doses were permitted. | Once weekly in the cited trial | 68-week treatment period: escalation every 4 weeks to target by week 16, then 52 weeks of maintenance; 7-week follow-up Break: No informal off-cycle established by this source | Human study regimen Garvey et al., NEJM 2025; REDEFINE 1, primary publication |
Important context: The target is 2.4 mg of each component, not 2.4 mg total. This controlled trial regimen is not a general treatment recommendation.
Sources checked October 7, 2026. Educational listing does not establish prescribing approval or availability through Seine Bio.
The REDEFINE 1 publication tested a weekly target of 2.4 mg of each component with protocol-directed treatment. That is a study description, not a mixing formula or a public dose recommendation. The separate table keeps published regimen context distinct from informal blend claims and preserves the original source labels.
Research Findings
REDEFINE 1 was a 68-week phase 3a trial in adults without diabetes who had obesity or overweight with an obesity-related complication. It included the combination, each individual component and placebo, with lifestyle intervention. The comparator groups help examine the combination without assuming its effect equals the sum of two separate drug trials.
U.S. Approval & Access
Novo Nordisk’s September 2026 update still describes CagriSema as investigational. Filing a marketing application is not an approval. FDA also states that cagrilintide cannot be compounded under federal law. Neither an inquiry nor a membership guarantees the combination, a prescription or trial acceptance.
What It Does in the Body
The program combines amylin-related and GLP-1 signaling. Researchers are testing whether that defined combination improves outcomes while remaining tolerable. It is useful to separate the rationale from the result: targeting complementary pathways may justify a trial, but it does not establish every ingredient ratio, product or patient as interchangeable. Reliable onset, peak clinical benefit and duration after stopping are not established for routine care by the sources reviewed; the length of a trial is not the duration of a guaranteed effect.
Benefits & Reported Experiences
The phase 3 report found greater mean weight reduction with the combination than placebo over 68 weeks. Published estimates depend on the analysis and how treatment discontinuation is handled. Do not compare a best on-treatment headline with an intention-to-treat result from a different medicine and conclude that one will necessarily work better for you.
Side Effects & Risks
Gastrointestinal adverse events were common in the clinical report. The semaglutide component also makes its established contraindications and precautions relevant to clinical evaluation. Unofficial preparations add uncertainties about content and exposure that a controlled trial cannot resolve. More ingredients should not be equated with a lower-risk or easier-to-tolerate regimen.
Delivery Options
The clinical program concerns a controlled injectable combination. A publisher’s blend page does not provide product equivalence. Investigational treatment must follow the administering research team’s protocol and consent process. No preparation, reconstitution, ingredient-ratio calculation or self-injection instructions are included in this guide.
Product Quality & Storage
Product identity matters especially when two active components are involved. Ask whether a source refers to the developer’s studied combination or merely a seller’s blend using similar names. A familiar molecule, vial concentration or attractive package cannot establish that the mixture has the same stability, delivery or clinical performance. No verified patient-use storage specification is supplied by the cited research. Research materials cannot inherit an approved medicine’s stability or storage instructions; an authorized program must provide its product-specific conditions.
Combinations & Interactions
CagriSema is itself a researched combination, not evidence for layering additional peptides onto it. Its trial does not validate adding tirzepatide, retatrutide or another appetite-directed agent. Combination decisions require a complete medication review and specific evidence. This page supplies no stack timing or dose-escalation plan.
Talking With Your Provider
A qualified consultation can distinguish current investigational research from available approved care. Ask which goal matters most, what evidence supports each alternative and which eligibility requirements actually apply. If no appropriate study or lawful product pathway is available, the useful next step is a realistic care plan rather than an unofficial substitute.

Questions worth bringing to your appointment.
- Are there alternatives that address my goal?
- If treatment is appropriate, what monitoring and follow-up would I need?
- Could my health history or current medicines change the risks?
A clinician may recommend a different option—or no medication—after assessing your individual circumstances.
