Thymosin Alpha-1.
A clearer overview.
Start with the research. Keep your goals in view.
Research topic in the United States. Thymosin Alpha-1 is not an FDA-approved general immune or wellness treatment. This page does not offer TA1 treatment.
What makes it interesting.
Thymosin Alpha-1, or TA1, is a 28-amino-acid peptide involved in immune biology. The synthetic version is known as thymalfasin. Research examines immune-cell signaling, but the goal is not simply to make every immune response stronger; disease, treatment and immune status all matter.
The story behind the interest.
TA1 was isolated from a thymus fraction and characterized in 1977. It has a longer clinical research history than many peptides discussed online, including studies in infectious disease and serious illness. That history needs to be read condition by condition, rather than repackaged as proof of general wellness benefit.
Evidence before expectations
Read beyond
the headline.
A useful research discussion includes the study design, the population and the outcome measured.
Read the original sourcesThe 2025 TESTS study was a multicentre, blinded, placebo-controlled phase 3 trial in patients with sepsis. It did not demonstrate a statistically significant overall 28-day mortality benefit. The article has a correction, which should be read alongside the original report.
FDA’s 2024 briefing evaluated multiple proposed conditions and identified substantial evidence and product-quality questions. Findings in a hospital population cannot establish benefit for a person seeking more energy or fewer everyday illnesses.
Clinical evidence is not all-or-nothing: a larger research record can be worth discussing without supporting every advertised use. Ask which condition, formulation, study and patient population a claim actually applies to.
| Research setting | What the record shows | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Long research history | TA1 was characterized from a thymic fraction in 1977. | A long history does not validate all wellness claims. |
| 2025 TESTS trial | A large sepsis trial did not show significant overall mortality benefit. | Does not support routine immune boosting for healthy people. |
| Condition-specific evaluation | FDA reviewed a range of proposed clinical uses in 2024. | The evidence needs to be assessed separately for each use. |

and cycles.
A clear reference for your conversation with a clinician.
Research doses describe a specific study, not a treatment plan. Online popularity does not establish safety.
| Preparation / context | Dose reference | Frequency | Duration / cycle | Evidence & source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Thymosin Alpha-1 | Not established for this proposed wellness use | Not established | No validated human on/off cycle | Evidence limitations There is no FDA-approved U.S. immune-wellness dosing cycle. Read the source |
Swipe or scroll sideways to see every column. There is no universal peptide cycle. A published trial, a product label and an informal online protocol are different kinds of information.

Risks & concerns
What deserves attention.
- FDA’s briefing identifies immunogenicity, aggregation and product-characterization concerns.
- An immune-active compound warrants individual consideration for autoimmune disease, transplantation, immune-suppressing treatment or cancer care.
- Evidence from one disease and preparation does not establish interactions or long-term safety for general wellness use.
A compound’s name, a purity claim or research-use labeling does not establish patient-ready quality, sterility or a reliable clinical outcome.
Regulatory context
Review is not an approval.
FDA evaluated TA1 in December 2024, separately from the July 2026 group. It appears in the current withdrawn-nomination table. Foreign use or a nomination change does not make it an FDA-approved drug.
Compounding review, permission to conduct research and approval of a finished drug are different decisions. This page is an invitation to learn and discuss appropriate care, not a statement that this compound can be supplied.

Understand your concerns.
Choose a useful next step.
Persistent illness, fatigue or concerns about immune function deserve a discussion of what has been happening and what has already been evaluated. We can explain the appropriate care pathway and referral options. Established care and specialist input may be more relevant than an experimental immune product.

Understand your options.
The appropriate clinician can discuss the research, its limitations and established alternatives. Relevant research resources may be discussed when appropriate; eligibility and access are controlled by the study or sponsor.
Choose your next step.
Review suitability, available care and clear costs before deciding. A plan may involve established treatment, a referral or further assessment. No particular prescription or research access is guaranteed.

Is Thymosin Alpha-1 the same as TB-500?
No. TA1 and thymosin-beta-related peptides are distinct substances. Similar names do not make their biological effects, evidence or safety interchangeable.
Does the sepsis trial prove a general immune benefit?
No. It studied hospitalized sepsis patients and did not show a statistically significant overall mortality benefit. It cannot establish a general wellness effect in people outside that population.
Does use outside the US mean it is FDA approved?
No. Regulatory decisions are jurisdiction specific. This page does not represent TA1 as an FDA-approved medicine or as a treatment available through Seine Bio.
Can I ask about TA1 and other options?
Yes. Bring the question and the health goal behind it. A clinician can discuss the evidence and appropriate established care. An inquiry does not guarantee TA1, another prescription or research access.
