Specialist evaluations

Make reproductive goals part of your hormone conversation.

Hormone concerns and fertility plans often belong in the same conversation. If you have questions about hCG, learn when it has a defined medical role and what an appropriate evaluation involves. A specialist assessment can help distinguish reproductive treatment needs from a general hormone or wellness offer, with decisions grounded in your individual circumstances.

01 / HOW IT WORKS

The biological question.

Human chorionic gonadotropin is a biological hormone that acts on reproductive hormone signaling. It is different from administering testosterone. Approved hCG products have specific uses in selected male hypogonadotropic hypogonadism and particular fertility settings. The same hormone name appearing in a bodybuilding discussion does not make that use equivalent to an approved product indication or a fertility diagnosis.

02 / WHERE IT COMES FROM

The story behind the name.

hCG has a longstanding place in reproductive medicine. Its public reputation also includes weight-loss and performance claims that should not be confused with labeled medical uses. Since the regulatory transition of certain protein products in 2020, hCG is treated as a biological product. FDA says biological products are not eligible for the ordinary 503A and 503B drug-compounding exemptions. A lawful program must use a verified licensed-product and pharmacy route.

Evidence before expectations

What the research
can tell you.

Explore the source material →

PREGNYL is an FDA-licensed biological product with a product-specific label. Its medical use requires selection and monitoring appropriate to the indication. In fertility treatment, for example, the surrounding treatment plan matters, not simply the availability of an injection. The approved label explicitly rejects obesity efficacy claims. This page therefore does not present hCG as a weight-loss treatment, a universal testosterone add-on or a self-directed post-cycle service.

A finding for one population, condition or formulation does not establish the same result for another.

These are key considerations, not a complete safety assessment.

Risks & uncertainties

What deserves attention.

  • Injection-site reactions and headache
  • Hypersensitivity, including anaphylaxis
  • Fluid retention and gynecomastia in males
  • Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome in fertility treatment
  • Thromboembolism, ovarian torsion and multiple gestation in relevant fertility settings

Clinical & regulatory context

Where this pathway fits.

  • A relevant reproductive or endocrine diagnosis must guide the assessment.
  • Clarify reproductive goals and current hormone treatment before discussing options.
  • Fertility uses need specialist expertise and indication-specific monitoring.
  • A licensed product and actual pharmacy arrangement must be confirmed; a compounder’s offer alone is not enough.

Clear answers before you decide

Your questions.
A clearer starting point.

Take a moment to understand the practical differences, limits and next steps.

Is hCG a weight-loss medication?

No. The PREGNYL label states that it has not demonstrated the claimed obesity benefits. A weight-management plan should use options supported for that purpose rather than presenting reproductive hormone treatment as a shortcut.

Is hCG the same as testosterone?

No. The treatments work differently and have different clinical purposes. Fertility and reproductive goals are important reasons to seek specialist guidance before choosing a hormone treatment; a particular medicine should not be assumed appropriate from symptoms alone.

Can a pharmacy simply compound hCG?

hCG is a biological product. FDA states that biologics are not eligible for ordinary 503A or 503B drug-compounding exemptions. A proposed service needs a verified lawful product and dispensing route rather than a general compounding claim.

Can I buy an hCG program here?

This page explains evaluation; it does not offer hCG treatment or supply. You can learn about the topic and request information about evaluation. Membership payment does not establish a diagnosis, prescription, fertility outcome or access to a specific biological product.
