Overview
IGF-1 LR3 is a modified insulin-like growth factor analog studied to alter interactions with binding proteins. It is different from ordinary IGF-1 and from the approved medicine mecasermin. A name containing “IGF-1” does not establish that the product shares mecasermin’s clinical evidence, indication, or safety profile.
Community Use
PeptideDosages.com publishes community protocol material for LR3. Performance interest commonly emphasizes growth-factor potency and persistence. These ideas need direct evidence for the actual analog and population; they cannot turn animal pharmacology into a validated muscle-building or recovery regimen.
Doses, Durations & Cycles
Informal biohacking protocols and published regimens. Attributed website reports for education, not medical recommendations. Multiple publications document circulation; they do not establish a safe dose or validate a cycle.
| Route / formulation | Dose / reported phases | Frequency | Duration / break | Notes and source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Subcutaneous | Weeks 1–2: 20 mcg; weeks 3–4: 40 mcg; weeks 5–8: 50 mcg | Once daily | 8 weeks Break: 4–8 weeks | Published informal biohacking claim PepGuru |
| Standard: subcutaneous or intramuscular; higher-range row: subcutaneous | Standard row: 20–50 mcg; separate higher-range row: 50–100 mcg | Standard: daily or post-workout; higher-range row: daily | 4–6 weeks Break: 4 weeks | Published informal biohacking claim Cinch Bio |
Important context: LR3 is a modified IGF-1 analog. Native recombinant IGF-1/mecasermin dosing cannot be transferred to LR3. Two webpages document informal schedules; they do not establish a common starting/average/maximum table.

No FDA-approved LR3 wellness or performance regimen is established. Rat exposures and packaging amounts cannot be scaled into a consumer dose. The chart preserves source context, not directions. Mecasermin’s pediatric label must not be used to calculate an LR3 schedule or to imply that this analog is an approved prescription substitute.
Research Findings
The 1993 comparison examined cell systems and normal female rats. LR3 had reduced affinity for IGF binding proteins and greater growth-related activity in that model, but it also cleared more quickly from rat plasma. That directly cautions against treating a universal multi-day half-life claim as established human pharmacokinetics.
U.S. Approval & Access
IGF-1 LR3 is not FDA-approved. Mecasermin’s approval applies to a different molecule and a defined pediatric condition, not LR3 performance use. A research-only listing does not establish lawful patient availability. The actual compound, preparation, indication, and proposed clinical pathway require independent review.
What It Does in the Body
Modifying binding-protein interactions can change how a growth factor is distributed and how it reaches receptors. More activity in a model does not automatically mean longer persistence or better clinical outcomes. The rat clearance result cannot define reliable human onset, peak exposure, or duration; a wellness result timeline is not established.
Benefits & Reported Experiences
The cited paper did not measure strength, return from injury, or healthy-person body composition in a human trial. Greater potency in rats is not a dependable estimate of a person’s benefit. Clinical claims require the exact analog, a relevant population, meaningful outcomes, and adequate safety follow-up.
Side Effects & Risks
The source set does not provide reliable human adverse-event frequencies for informal LR3 use. IGF-related metabolic and growth activity raises safety questions but does not justify inventing rates for this analog. A clinician should review metabolic history, growth-related conditions, and other hormone exposure rather than borrowing reassurance from a different product.
Delivery Options
Animal and cell experiments do not validate consumer injection routes or local-use claims. Administration near a muscle does not establish selective growth of that muscle. This profile supplies no mixing, injection, dose-conversion, or performance-use instructions and does not endorse research-only materials for personal administration.
Product Quality & Storage
Confirm the precise analog, sequence, and final formulation before comparing a product with the paper. LR3 and mecasermin are not interchangeable quality or evidence categories. A purity certificate cannot establish clinical effectiveness, quantify human risk, or create a lawful clinical pathway for an experimental product. Storage must follow the authorized finished product’s labeling or an approved study protocol; temperatures and beyond-use times cannot be inferred from research-vial guidance.
Combinations & Interactions
Combining LR3 with growth hormone, insulin, or other performance compounds creates additional biological and evidence uncertainty. A paper about one analog in rats cannot establish a safe multi-hormone regimen. This page supplies no stack, cycle, or timing instructions and does not suggest that additional compounds offset risk.
Talking With Your Provider
For fatigue, body-composition concerns, or suspected hormonal problems, begin with a diagnostic clinical review. Discuss established treatments for the actual condition and ask where experimental evidence stops. A consultation can explain LR3 research but does not guarantee access to the analog or enhanced performance.
