Overview
Oxymetholone, known by the historical brand Anadrol, is an oral anabolic-androgenic steroid. It is not a peptide. Its medical history includes selected anemia conditions and research in severe wasting. That history must be separated from community use for rapid mass gain, particularly because risks and current product authorization require careful review.
Community Use
Community descriptions often emphasize size or potency while minimizing the disease setting of clinical reports. No exact profile was found in the requested peptide-community catalogs. This page does not present an internet mass-gain cycle or imply that a historical brand is routinely available through an authorized modern wellness program.

| Route / formulation | Dose / reported phases | Frequency | Duration / break | Notes and source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Oral tablets | Label range 1–5 mg/kg/day; usual effective daily total 1–2 mg/kg, individualized | Daily total; divided-dose frequency is not specified | Minimum therapeutic trial 3–6 months; after remission some stop, others require lower-dose maintenance Break: No biohacking break established by this source | Archived US FDA label, August 2004 FDA Anadrol-50 label, NDA 016848/S-021, Dosage and Administration Anemias from deficient red-cell production, including aplastic anemia, myelofibrosis and hypoplastic anemia from myelotoxic drugs |
Important context: FDA Drugs@FDA lists Anadrol-50 50 mg oral tablets, NDA 016848, as Discontinued. The archived 2004 FDA label below is historical labeling, not evidence of a currently marketed product. 50 mg is the tablet strength, not a universal adult starting dose. Clinical anemia treatment cannot be translated into a bodybuilding cycle or generic dose table. Discontinued status is not by itself an FDA safety-withdrawal finding. FDA lists Anadrol-50 as discontinued. Its anemia label is archived and does not validate a bodybuilding regimen.

Historical label amounts were intended for specified diseases and medical monitoring. A wasting-study regimen also cannot be repurposed as a healthy-user cycle. Any numeric chart should state the indication, formulation, date, and studied population; this article provides no loading, bodybuilding, or post-cycle schedule.
Research Findings
A randomized, placebo-controlled study enrolled 89 people with HIV-related wasting and investigated weight and body-cell-mass outcomes. This is human disease-specific evidence. It does not establish a benefit-risk balance in people seeking recreational muscle gain. Human HIV-wasting trial.
U.S. Approval & Access
The 2004 FDA label documents a historical Anadrol product and its medical indications; it is not confirmation of present-day commercial supply. Oxymetholone is an anabolic steroid under US controlled-substance rules. Current authorization and lawful availability must be verified for the exact product. Historical FDA prescribing label.
What It Does in the Body
Oxymetholone has anabolic and androgenic pharmacology. Effects on tissue or red-cell production may matter in selected disease contexts, but are not independent of other systemic effects. A stronger anabolic description does not establish that escalating exposure produces a better health outcome. Reliable onset, peak benefit, and duration for a proposed healthy-user wellness program are not established by the wasting studies.
Benefits & Reported Experiences
The HIV-wasting study reported weight and body-cell-mass increases. Benefits in a serious illness must be weighed against toxicity and the treatment options available in that era. The results cannot be used to guarantee lean gains, strength improvements, or sustained wellness in an otherwise different population.
Side Effects & Risks
The historical label contains serious hepatic warnings, including peliosis hepatis, alongside lipid and androgen-related concerns. These are not resolved by a user feeling stronger or gaining weight. The trial’s benefit findings should therefore be read with its safety record, rather than quoted alone as evidence of a favorable program.
Delivery Options
The referenced product is an oral tablet, not a peptide injection. Formulation and product identity should remain explicit. This profile does not supply dose manipulation around training or directions for unlicensed preparations. A historical oral route cannot establish current suitability or legal availability.
Product Quality & Storage
A clear chain of authorization and dispensing is essential for any proposed clinical use. An old FDA document or an analytical certificate alone does not identify a current lawful supply. Quality review also includes whether the treating clinician understands the disease, exposure, and monitoring required. Storage and handling must follow a verified current label for an authorized product, not a presumed rule for an old brand.
Combinations & Interactions
No nonmedical steroid stack or post-cycle schedule is provided. Additional hormones or purported protective supplements do not establish that hepatic or endocrine risk has been removed. If co-use has occurred, disclose all exposures to help the clinician interpret symptoms and choose appropriate evaluation.
Talking With Your Provider
For anemia, muscle wasting, or unexplained weight changes, investigate the cause with a licensed clinician. For prior use of a product labeled Anadrol, bring the available packaging and medical history. The aim is a clinically appropriate plan, which may involve different established treatment rather than continued oxymetholone.
